The Restoration Processes

We walk down the street past hundreds of them on a daily basis, but we rarely pay attention to the architecture, the brickwork, the structure and the design. Buildings are so commonplace in today's society that we take them for granted. They provide us with shelter, warmth and a home; but we barely recognise the history that made them this way.

Here at Relko, we appreciate the buildings that have stood the test of time, and have a department that specialises in the restoration and conservation of brick and stonework buildings. We have a number of services, including masonry and natural stone restoration, alternations, the rebuilding of stone brickwork and even graffiti removal.

Natural Stone

Many buildings across the UK utilise natural stone, including, but not limited to Cotswold limestone, sandstone from the Midlands and Welsh granite. While stonework looks aesthetically pleasing, if left unprotected from the elements for extended periods of time, the integrity of the work diminishes, as well as being a sight for sore eyes, as it crumbles and deteriorates.

Our team of highly skilled experts know exactly how to repair stonework seamlessly, and do so with a passion that really shows, in the results.

Brickwork Alterations

The process of altering and rebuilding brickwork is often done when a building is re-purposed, or the floor plan changes - thanks to the removal of internal walls or an extension. Our team of specialists can restore any damaged masonry, using the original material where possible, and in accordance with engineering designs to the highest of standards.

Graffiti Removal

While some pieces of commissioned graffiti can be aesthetically pleasing, a lot of it is unwanted, unsolicited and unsightly, particularly in built-up urban areas. Perpetrators care very little for the buildings they are damaging, and often "tag" listed buildings that require special permissions to clean, restore and maintain.

As well as being one of the most sought-after graffiti removers, we can also coat surfaces in a wax that is not visible to the eye, making future cleaning much easier.
