Unknown Hazards

Here at The Relkogroup, we have a team of trained specialists to deal with all sorts of hazardous situations; those that are well-known such as fire and flood restoration and odour removal, and those that are less considered such as void and trauma restoration and needle retrieval. These services are here to provide businesses with clean and habitable premises, regardless of their original state.

Void and Trauma Restoration

Circumstances can often arise in domestic and commercial settings that are highly sensitive and not pleasant for people to see at all. Buildings and properties that are void or involved in trauma require experienced cleaning teams with specialised equipment required to get them back up to specification and fit for purpose. This is particularly the case after a property has been deemed a crime scene, site of an accident, a squat or drug den, or having been contaminated with hazardous substances.

Our teams work in conjunction with the client as well as relevant parties such as family members, property owners, housing associations, welfare officers and the Police in these situations.

Needle Retrieval

In recent years, the increase in injuries caused by needles has risen dramatically, which only serves to make our needle retrieval service all the more necessary. These dangerous items are often littered carelessly which can pose a risk to you, your family, staff, customers and the public in general. Removing needles should not be taken lightly, as they can carry any number of health risks.

If you come across needles in or around your home or business, please do not try and remove it yourself as you will only be putting yourself and those around you at risk. Our highly trained team use protective equipment to ensure that injuries are minimised and can dispose of the needles and any associated hazardous substances safely.

If you do accidentally suffer a needle-stick injury, it is important that you follow these precautions:

  • Wash the area thoroughly for at least 15 minutes
  • Seek immediate medical assistance
  • Avoid contact with anybody else

This is especially important as needles can carry a large number of viruses, pathogens and bacteria that can lead to HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and Tetanus amongst other illnesses.

These services are in operation 24 hours a day so if you are in need of some assistance in the Birmingham or West Midlands area, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information by calling 0800 014 2975.
